As an educator, Dawn helps to nurture future generations of musicians as Professor of Music at Montgomery College where she has produced an annual World Arts Festival for six years. She won the award for outstanding faculty in May 2008.  Go to Montgomery College World Music

She also taught at Hunter College Campus Schools, Columbia Grammar & Preparatory Schools, Harlem School of the Arts, and NYU. 

Dawn holds a B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music, a M.F.A. from NYU and is currently working on her PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
